Younger folks are unacquainted with the 1944 black and white movie Gaslight, a gothic romance thriller starring Charles Boyer, Ingrid Bergman, Joseph Cotten, and Angela Lansbury, can be forgiven for not understanding this movie is the root source of the term now in vogue. Many of our famous catchphrases come from literature and movies. In this case, a bad guy tries to convince his wife she’s crazy and losing her marbles by manipulating the gas illumination in their home to convince her she’s nuts. A good guy saves the day, and all ends well, unlike our lying politicians constantly telling us what we saw or heard wasn’t what we saw or heard. That’s gaslighting! The compliant legacy media is the worst ‘gaslighting’ offenders by showering us with sanguine assurances that we are not being lied to, except by those nasty MAGA people.
I guess in today’s modern world, we could call it “light switching” as gas is no longer used for indoor illumination but for the legacy media and Democrats; however, it’s all still lies created to convince us that what we see and hear is mere illusions or misstatement, when in fact we know better. We’re being “gaslighted.” They are “gaslighting” us now about how accomplished Kamala Harris is, how her experience as the DA in San Francisco, her term as California State Attorney General, and later, as a California Senator before attaining her gig as VP, assures her bonafide to be President. They expected us to accept, without question, that her exceptional experiences qualified her for the job. We know better! Her record as San Francisco’s DA shows her throwing herself unabashedly into fighting crime and evil, causing many, many arrests, convictions, and jailings for simple misdemeanor marijuana use, almost exclusively directed at black males, indeed hundreds of them!
Joe Biden’s non compus mentus status, is no secret. We’ve all seen him in rapid decline mentally, but not so much so as what he did after his pals in Democrat leadership caused him to drop out of the 2024 race. The radicals in the Democrat party saw in Biden’s withdrawal an excellent chance to advance California Governor Newsome into the limelight for acclamation as the new, better Democrat presidential candidate. Nobody wants Kamala Harris because she has proven herself an incapable fool multiple times and holds little favor with voters. Besides, what difference would it make if it were Kamala or Gavin? They’re both San Francisco Democrats, meaning they are both radical socialists, if not outright communists. Consider what they each have independently done to California, once America’s great engine of economic prosperity. Turned it into a poverty-stricken land of fruits, nuts, and flakes. When one exists, one must work hard to stay poor. Democrats cannot be returned to federal power if we are to restore an American Republic instead of a totalitarian dictatorship.
So, what did Joe do to get his revenge for their betrayal? His parting shot, his ‘zinger,’ in his farewell to his candidacy speech, was to anoint Kamala Harris to succeed him with the words: “For my part, my very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made.” Ouch! Joe locked the Democrats in to support Kamala before their convention because time is running out. Joe can resign if his friends remove Kamala at the Convention, making her the incumbent. Don’t you love it? Then, Obama, Pelosi, Schumer, et al., would be stuck with a Kamala Harris candidate, a creature who, by acclamation of the base voters, is unwanted and who, unless the Democrats manage to stuff the ballot boxes, has a snowball’s chance in hell of defeating Donald Trump. Democrat party politics is a version of cannibalism. They’ll eat rotten meat if they can keep their hands on the levers of power. For Kamala, the fix is in. The lies about her unenviable work history are being created by erasing the truths we’ve all seen and heard, filling the airways with BS. They will fly in our faces like gnats at a summer picnic. Let the gaslighting begin. We can’t afford to lose again. There is no red tide; we must fight for every ballot, every vote, and every mind. They will!
