“If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.” Sir Winston Churchill

I was once told by a history teacher (when they taught history) that if communism cannot come in by the front door, it will sneak in from the back door. If the back door is locked, it will crawl in through a window. It sounds like a quote from Churchill, but I’m not certain.

Now stay with me.

I’m going to use the terms “socialism” and “communism” interchangeably. They are intertwined. There are two brands of socialism, communism and fascism. Mamdani spoke numerous times about controlling the means of production. That is pure communism, which is traditionally defined as socialism. Socialism while keeping industry private but controlled is fascism. Since today’s socialists say they are antifascists, I would have to judge that these new socialists are communists.

Conservatism in the USA is by no means fascist or communist. It is capitalist. To call Trump a fascist plays to the ignorant. And the communists assume there are plenty of them.

Communists/fascists need to point to a common “enemy of the people,” so they chose their most fervent enemy…MAGA and decided to call them fascists. The fascists in America are probably within the Democrat ranks. Since almost no one in the movement understands the meaning of these terms, it is clear what the implications are.

What is clear about the entire movement, whether it be communist or fascist, is that it is demonic, anti-God, antisemitic, and anti-Christian.

Why the Christian Church? Communism is atheist and views Christianity as a competing ideology. Christianity represents freedom and is difficult to influence. The Gospels are all about freedom. Historically, communist regimes have sought to eliminate the influence of the Church by force. Socialism is incompatible with Christianity.

Christian organizations, including churches, some universities, the Salvation Army, and the like, possess their own resources, networks, and loyalties that can rival state influence, particularly in relation to God. To any communist country, that is unacceptable.

Islam has merged somewhat with communism and are unlikely continuing partners. Islam (represented by Mamdani) will seemingly work with communists to destroy the Church. Islam will then annihilate the communists once the Church falls. Islam always takes the long-term view.

The Democrat Party and Islam are naturally aligned. What party fought a civil war to protect slavery? What party burned down Black churches? What party prevented Blacks from voting? What party visited violence on Blacks, hanging many of them that got ‘uppity’? The Democrat Party has been as autocratic as Islam ever was.

A recent poll was taken in the USA, Canada, Australia, and the UK (realities ofsocialsim.org) to study the support for socialism. The results were alarming:

Total Agreement for Socialism:

USA: 31%, Canada: 42%, Australia: 40%, UK: 43%

Support for socialism increases when you look at young people (18-24).

Total Agreement for Socialism, 18-24 Year-Olds

USA: 45%, Canada: 50%, Australia: 53%, UK: 52%

Socialism for Government-Provided Social Programs

USA: 58%, Canada: 65%, Australia: 65%, UK: 55%

Support for Guaranteed Minimum Income

USA: 47%, Canada: 57%, Australia: 57%, UK: 57%

Since the people polled had no working knowledge of socialism, had never lived under it entirely, or knew that millions of people died under it in the 20th century, their definition of it was somewhat skewed. When asked for a definition of socialism, an average of 33% provided the definition of fascism.

When asked if they would accept higher taxes to fund socialism, respondents in all the surveyed countries generally answered with a resounding NO! Only about one-third supported an increase in personal income tax, while only about 20% favored a national sales tax. The belief that we can simply tax the wealthy to cover these costs is a myth; there will never be enough revenue generated from them to fully fund such programs. Anyway, the rich tend to gravitate to the country or state with the least resistance.

Unfortunately, our education system, for a very long time, has not taught civics, how our capitalist system works, nor the early colonial history of socialism. This lack of foundational knowledge has led to significant misconceptions about political ideologies.

Before America became a country, the colonies used a form of communism. Everything was shared. In simple terms, when diligent farmers realized that lazy individuals and those who refused to work were receiving the same food as those who labored hard, they either stopped working altogether or reduced their hours in the fields just to provide for their families. People starved to death, and colonies disappeared. When they introduced capitalism, they thrived.

Some individuals will always lack industry or motivation. Give them a guaranteed income and watch them sleep in. As Jesus said, “You will always have the poor among you.” Being Christian, the early American colonies (churches) consistently provided food and care for those who were unable to work or support themselves.

Sweden and Denmark went socialist in the 1970s through the 90s. Their unemployment was almost always high. Inflation was out of control due to excessive government spending. By the 1990s, Denmark’s economy was struggling. In 1995, Denmark reduced government spending, and by 2019, they had a balanced budget. They still have one of the largest welfare states in the world.

Sweden and Denmark pay for it with high taxes, with the burden carried by average citizens. They maintain a 25% sales tax. Imagine paying $10,000 in sales tax on a $40,000 car.

Their top rate of personal income tax kicks in at a relatively low income. Sweden at $61,755, Denmark at $92,000. Sweden’s top rate would be 52.3%. Denmark at 55.9%. The USA’s top rate would be 37% for an income of $609,351.

If socialism excels in any areas, it is in making promises, killing people, and lying. Socialism promises healthcare, housing, food, security, and what Mamdani likes to promise, dignity. For socialists, confronting the realities of their promises is an inconvenient truth that is challenging to address when engaging with the educated. For the uneducated, misinformed, or disinformed, of which there are many, socialism promises a bright future filled with plenty, a cornucopia of food and everything one needs to live a full life.

To understand the impact of socialism, consider that it murdered upwards of 200 million people in the 20th century. (reason.com)

Communism will never produce the kind of goods and services that capitalism provides. A socialist government only wants its citizens to be completely dependent and controllable. There are no rich except for the oligarchs that keep the beast alive.

There is no such thing as democratic socialism. Socialism is never voluntary; it is always imposed. You cannot have capitalism with a ‘touch’ of socialism. Most of the West has a form of socialism that is slowly, painfully coming to an end. We spend at least a trillion dollars a year on socialist programs, and people bitterly complain about the inflation the spending is causing. The Democrats shut down the government to try to secure an additional 1.5 trillion dollars in social spending. Politicians, particularly Democrats, have conditioned tens of millions of people to believe that there is such a thing as a free lunch.  All to secure votes.

The new Democrat Party demands socialism, by vote or force. And they are willing to employ force. Even if it was voted in, it can never be voted out. The system will collapse when it eventually runs out of other people’s money, just as the Soviet Union did and as Prime Minister Thatcher predicted.

Why would anyone want more of a government that got us into this mess?

I believe the Democrat Party is lost; their infection is nearly complete. My greatest concern is the potential for a final confrontation. Americans are a patient and generous people, but are being pushed too far.
