Friends:
The following message was shared with members of our community prayer group. It captures the character of the crisis introduced by the recognition that the president of the United States is waging war against the citizens of our country.
I send this message in the understanding that such a testimonial of faith is consistent with the purpose of this West Pint class forum established by Lt. Gen. Tom McInerney. It is important to each of us to the extent that it clarifies the nature of the crises confronting the country.
Andy’s Message Follows
Dear Bob and Prayer Partners, I have a problem. The President refuses to enforce the laws of the land. He has taken action to disenfranchise Americans by disallowing the sovereignty of the people opening our international borders to criminals, drug traffickers, and illegal aliens. He has taken steps to use the medical care of the Veterans Affairs department to support illegal aliens. In violation of the Constitution, he has permitted CRT to be taught at West Point and in our military training centers. In so doing the President breaks faith with those he has sworn to protect. In short, the President of the Republic is waging war on the citizens of the USA.
I have sent a message to my west Point Classmate calling Joe Biden a traitor. I also accused the leadership of the Democratic Party of incompetence. It is a step that I suspect will terminate my participation in the West Point Class ’59 Forum.
As I reflect upon my faith and loyalties in life, my faith in God ranks first in order of importance to me. My nationality ranks as my second most important faith. The third is my faith and commitment to my family. Fourth is my commitment to friends and fellow members of my Church. Thereafter I count my identity as a professional soldier, airborne ranger, and cavalryman. Thereafter comes my faith in my political affiliation as a member of the GOP. My fidelity to West Point is important to me, but it follows God, Country, family, Church and friends, prayer partners, followed by my identity as a professional soldier, and member of my political party. I rank my fidelity to you among my loving commitments to friends and family
By announcing to my Classmates, that the President is a traitor, I have put Classmates on notice that to the extent there is a conflict between my faith in the country and my Alma Mater, I have chosen to be an American first and thereafter a West Pointer. Inasmuch as I consider the Democratic Party to be in a state of open rebellion against the United States of America, it is important to publicly state that my loyalty to God and country come first
I should mention that the Class leaders of my class (’59) are very liberal. We have clashed over our political views in the past. Now I announce that as a Christian and American, I sever my ties with the Class, should they determine my behavior is unacceptable to fellow members of the Class. I cannot be a part of a group that supports sedition, treason, or un-American behavior, such as that exhibited by the current president of the Republic who is waging war on the citizens of this country. I cannot be a Christian, a faithful citizen, and a member of a forum that supports treason.
I could have chosen to be silent. To do so would have concealed a contradiction between my love of God and Country and the leadership of our country that I consider to be illegitimate. The Lord knows my heart. To remain silent would create a wound or inner conflict between my fidelity and my actions. In addition to our faith in God, we must remain faithful to our family, country, community, and fellow citizens.
Lynn and I continue our daily prayers. Our love of the Lord ranks as the single most important aspect of our identity. We love you. God loves you. We pray for the healing of the members of our group every day. Our God is truly almighty, capable of creation, preserving life, and healing the sick. In our love for the Lord, and our love for you we seek the blessings of our Lord and savior. We love you all. God bless you. God bless America! Lynn and Andy
