The Democrat Party is no longer a legitimate political party, and it hasn’t been since at least Obama.
Since after the Civil War, or more accurately, the War Between the States, the Democrat Party has slowly evolved into a treasonous opposition. Their ‘dreams’ for the nation had departed from what the founders had in mind.
Understanding the events from the so-called Civil War onward is crucial.
It was not a civil war because the Southern states sought independence rather than control of the federal government. That is not a civil war. It was a war of secession. It is important to remember the South was almost completely Democrat while the North was anti-slavery Republican.
Lee’s march to Gettysburg, PA was not an effort to take over the country. It was an attempt to dictate terms in Washington.
Whether the Democrat South had the right to secede is still talked about today, but only in casual conversation. Textbooks won’t touch it.
The Constitution is a negative document. That is, it spells out what the government cannot do. The Constitution never delegated to the federal government the right to suppress secession. Constitutionally, that would remain a reserved right of the states or the people (10th Amendment). That is why President Buchanan (president before Lincoln) felt he had no choice but to bid the Southern states to ‘go in peace.’ Buchanan found himself in a difficult position. He thought secession was illegal AND, he felt, there was no right to coerce a state to stay.
The most intriguing argument in support of secession involves the states of New York, Virginia, and Rhode Island. It is little known that those states, in their clause for ratification of the Constitution, were granted the right to secede or withdraw from the Union if the federal government became oppressive. This provision was the only way those states would agree to statehood. Since all the states are co-equal, all states are equal in rights; the right of secession is automatically given to all states.
All of these arguments depend on whether you are a broad or strict constructionist of the Constitution, but the latter point is powerful.
Because Lincoln feared that the only democracy in the world was at stake, President Lincoln forced statehood on the South or on the Democrat Party.
We now face a fiercely hostile political opposition that should have been dissolved. Their only policy is to get votes anyway they can. Donald Trump, being the bold, outspoken outsider, has amplified their hatred to a fine art. If you doubt that, go to California as a conservative and speak your mind, but don’t use the wrong pronouns.
The post-civil war history of the Democrat Party became one of oppression. Slavery was outlawed, but each Southern state had their way of limiting the freedom of Black people. Jim Crow laws, poll taxes, de facto segregation, and outright harassment targeted both Black individuals and women who demanded their rights.
In the South during the 1950s, most voters supported the Democrat Party, contributing to the formation of the “Solid South,” a voting bloc that consistently voted Democrat. When the 60s arrived, the issue of desegregation gradually drew many Southerners away from the Democrat Party.
Then Lyndon Johnson employed the artistry of pandering or paying Blacks to vote Democrat. Johnson was convinced that welfare would cause Blacks to “vote Democrat for the next 200 years.” Even after trillions spent on social welfare, the Black community stayed virtually the same, behind the eight ball and Democrat.
Some would say that many Blacks advanced in our government, becoming senators and congressmen. They did. The first and second in 1870 were Republican. The first Black Democrat US congressman did not arrive until 1945. The second in 1968.
Many Black Democrats acted more like overseers, making sure Blacks didn’t leave the plantation. Rather than advocating for policies that would promote genuine equality and uplift the community, they accused every Republican of racism. Politics in reverse.
The radical Left is now in full control of the DNC. Their ‘big-tent party’ is filled with Marxists, anarchists, antisemites, anti-Christians, rabid atheists, and sexual and gender deviates, greatly harming our Judeo-Christian culture. That may sound quaint to some, but our founders built the most successful nation in world history on that culture. It didn’t require anyone to be a slavish adherent, but it expected a certain respect for our values and principles.
To maintain and expand their existing voting bloc, the radical Left introduced diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives; supported illegal immigration; endorsed Black Lives Matter; and aligned with Antifa, promoting a disingenuous anti-fascist movement and engaging in election fraud specifically aimed at opposing Trump.
The Democrat Party depends on an education system that doesn’t educate and bullhorn propaganda that continually spits out hate-of-country and their favorite altercations, racism and injustice.
After the 2020 election, it took mere milliseconds for the Democrats to illegally open our borders, all while insisting that they were closed and continuously suggesting that our immigration laws were in dire need of reform, which they claimed was the reason for the chaos. All lies.
The immigration question became a centerpiece of a nefarious plan to overwhelm the nation with future Democrat voters, albeit needy and unvetted.
These illegal migrants are so important to their quest for power that the thousands of dead and the cost in taxpayer money mean nothing to them.
We hear of another murder or innocent death by an criminal illegal migrant almost daily. After all the violence and death, the Democrats are now demanding that the borders be opened again.
Every Democrat involved in the illegal opening of our borders (including Biden and Harris) that caused the thousands of deaths should be indicted for murder under the felony murder rule, which states that the offender, as well as the accomplices or co-conspirators, may be found guilty of murder even if it wasn’t their intent. Felony murder is legal in DC. It was reasonable to assume that the uncontrolled opening of the borders with no vetting would cause mayhem and death.
If elections have consequences, so should nefarious policy decisions by vile politicians and judges.
Democrat’s deceit and hypocrisy is legion. They demand a larger government that can only result in autocracy and ruinous taxation. They are hostile to traditional values and cultural norms. Their business policies show ignorance. Their stringent environmental policies are detrimental to entrepreneurship, business, and economic growth. Their healthcare reform could only result in socialized medicine with waiting lines around the block.
I don’t doubt that many Democrat voters want world peace, a country that is safe, preserves their God-given rights, allows unlimited opportunity, and is fair and prosperous. But the Democrat Party today is a very different, dangerous animal going against the grain. And it is wounded.
