Egypt remains upset at the support the United States has given to the Muslim Brotherhood, retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely, who is just back from a fact-finding mission in Cairo, says.
“The bottom line is they are so upset with the American government supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and al-Qaida over there,” Vallely, founder of Stand Up America, told “The Steve Malzberg Show” on Newsmax TV.

“They can’t believe after 45 years of a good alliance that we would stop their modernization program for their military that is absolutely critical in the Sinai now protecting the Suez Canal.
“So there’s a lot … there that has not been understood or not properly publicized in the western press.”
Earlier this year, the Egyptian military ousted Mohammed Morsi as president, jailed him and other Muslim Brotherhood members, and suspended the constitution in a bloody, deadly takeover.
Vallely, who met with government officials and business leaders, believes the Muslim Brotherhood will be excluded from the new government and constitution because it would have to be accepted as a political party.
“The Muslim Brotherhood has three legs to it. Number one, a political agenda; number two, a militant arm of al-Qaida; [and] … the international spread of the global caliphate by the Muslim Brotherhood,” he said.
“They will have to shake off those other two legs which they’re not going to do. So I don’t think they’ll be included in the new government.”
