For the first time in forty-six years, you are the first President of the United States to send a clear, encouraging, and hopeful message directly to the people of Iran.
Your unprecedented warning early Friday—stating that if the Islamic Republic resorts to massacring protesters, opening fire on civilians, and violently killing them, as is tragically their usual practice, the United States of America would stand by the Iranian people—has reignited hope in the hearts of millions of Iranians.
Without addressing here the fundamental demands of the Iranian nation, we consider it our duty to express our deepest and most sincere gratitude for this firm and actionable stance. A position that has earned you, in the hearts of freedom-loving Iranians, a true People’s Peace Prize.
