The new FBI under Kash Patel, is purging those FBI agents who participated in a Black Lives Matters protest by publicly kneeling in their support. That was a few years ago when the FBI was morphing into a Woke mechanisms designed to protect the deep state. The FBI Association, presumably as association of retired agents, supposedly are rising up in complaint describing the firings as “unlawful” by violating Civil Service protections. Those protections don’t really apply here and, I really suspect that not all retired FBI agents in their association feel the same. What those agents did was to publicly demean themselves, their co-workers, the reputation of a premier law enforcement agency and reinforce the negative mindset of the agency’s new mission, protect the deep state, that is afflicting us today.
The FBI Associations argument misses the point. Those agents involved were individually derelict in their job. If a supervisor ordered them to kneel in unison, then we have another problem. Their sorry need to demonstrate empathy do not compete with the needs of the public they serve and there is no balance of fairness to be considered. If the FBI Associations complaints are based solely on Civil Service Protections, then they ignored the “Excepted” Civil Service hiring policies that allowed federal enforcement agencies to hire who they wanted based upon education, background and law enforcement histories. I retired long ago and since then, those rules may have been and probably have been superseded by DEI and CRT employment demands imposed by the radical left. In the 1960’s I hired on as a US Navy Criminal, CE/CI Investigator. I still had an active US Army T/S Clearance. The job was a yearly renewable contract and, so long as I stayed within the established rules required for the position, I could expect to get rehired. A TS/SCI Clearance finally came with the job.
Later in my career, affirmative action plans were introduced and suddenly, women were hired and rightfully so, who previously were denied investigator jobs that required at some point in their professional career development, shipboard time at sea with the Navy. Just as quickly, the Navy started training up female sailors 2 for ship board jobs, including aircraft carriers, and well, they we are, a new navy and a better one. In the decades since, it seems to have worked out okay. Still, everyone hired had to pass the strict background investigation for a Top-Secret Security Clearance. No clearance, no job and, that brings us back around to the FBI. There were many things that could get an agent suspended or fired in my agency and, an outside expression of disloyalty was one of ’em. Apparently not so in Comey and Wray’s FBI.
They reflected the political demands of the Deep State Commissars who put them there. America’s external enemy, Islamic Jihadism, shocked us on 9/11 and President Bush, took action to beef up our awareness of the Islamic threat. President Obama, on the other hand, ordered the Intelligence agencies especially the FBI, to stand down on training such hateful nonsense that Islam, a religion of Peace, was terroristic. It was just a few Jihadist radicals under Osama Bin Laden who did it and, we’ve never gone back to reality.
By showing their personal solidarity to the BLM, a vicious domestic terrorist organization, those several FBI agents on their knees didn’t just display political bias but extreme disloyalty of the first order and their firings should be welcomed by all Americans, especially retired special agents of all federal law enforcement agencies who spent their careers fighting terrorism. To retain these people is to tell future applicants for positions in federal law enforcement, it’s okay to have feelings and empathy, when it’s not okay. If Kash Patel falls victim to empathy over protection, the gap of trust FBI Kash Pate is trying to reestablish will close forever. The average American, in fact most Americans will never completely trust the FBI again and the seeds for future problems will will have been sown. America has been divided, purposely and the strings of control are visible if you look for them. America needs an enema. A purge will do!
