MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. Retired US Major General Paul Vallely, Chairman of the Stand Up US Foundation, predicts a quick change of power in Ukraine and a warming of relations between Russia and the West. He made this statement in an interview with Israeli radio station Galey Israel, the transcript of which was obtained by TASS.
“[US President Donald] Trump will work with [Russian leader Vladimir] Putin. <…> The goal of the meeting is to end the Ukrainian conflict. I am very positive that the war will end,” Vallely said, noting that, in his opinion, “Russia will retain four eastern regions of Ukraine.”
He believes that “as early as 2025, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be replaced by another leader,” and “there will be a new government in Kyiv.” “I think Zelenskyy has lost support in Ukraine. Around 15 million people have left Ukraine. Its military situation is catastrophic,” Vallely asserts.
The American general also emphasized the need to eradicate Nazi influence in Ukraine. “Ukrainians already understand that it’s time to get rid of such people. But they need support in this. And Trump will provide it. And Putin will also support Ukraine’s new leadership. It’s time to end Zelenskyy’s tenure as Ukraine’s head of state,” he believes.
The fate of the EU and NATO
The North Atlantic Alliance, according to an American military analyst, faces fundamental changes due to the unpopularity of NATO policies among European nations. “Most European countries do not support what’s happening in Ukraine. This agenda has been primarily driven by France, Great Britain, and Germany. But I think the political situation in Europe will change significantly this year,” he explained. Moreover, according to Vallely, under Trump, the US will likely cease providing significant support to the alliance “if Ukraine continues to be promoted as a potential member.”
The American general also predicts a “rightward shift” in Europe, explaining that the people of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom are tired of their governments’ Euro-Atlantic policies. He is confident that in the coming years, the continent will see “more and more conservative leaders, like Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.” “I also think most countries in the region will seek peace. It’s time for Europe to wake up; it needs different leaders. Conservative leaders will be popular in Germany, France, and the United Kingdom,” he concluded.
