Wake Me Up When Durham and Barr Indict some Deep State Criminals

Senate Collusion Theater

Someone wake me up when we hear something from John Durham.

‘Anybody who knew about the problems with the dossier and continued to use it are good candidates to go to jail.”

So said Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) earlier this week, referring to the infamous “dossier” of faux intelligence reporting generated by former British spy Christopher Steele on behalf of the Hillary Clinton campaign. Senator Graham was laying the groundwork for a push he has recently invigorated — to say “reinvigorated” would be misleading — to examine . . . well . . . it’s not exactly clear what he’s planning to examine.

Sometimes, it seems Graham is after FISA abuse by the FBI in the Trump–Russia investigation. Sometimes, it’s the decision by then-deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein to appoint Robert Mueller as special counsel to investigate the sitting president under circumstances where there was no basis for such an investigation. Sometimes, the focus is described as the Mueller investigation itself: why it went on so long despite the lack of a solid evidentiary predicate, why Rosenstein, in August 2017, defined its scope based on allegations long known to be either groundless or far afield from purportedly suspected Trump–Russia collusion.

Given that Graham has no power to send any good candidates to jail, and the real investigative work either has already been done by the Justice Department’s inspector general, or is in the process of being done by prosecutor John Durham, one can’t help but ask: What is the objective of this scattershot production?

This is a pressing question now that Graham, on a party-line vote of his committee, has been authorized to carpet-bomb Obama-world with subpoenas. Dozens of them: the Trump–Russia Who’s Who, to be hauled in for what we’re supposed to believe will be hours of grueling testimony. Sure, it may take Senate Republicans a year or four to get around to historic Democratic abuses of the government’s awesome law-enforcement and foreign-intelligence apparatus for political purposes, but man oh man, do they mean business now . . . even though, um, there are only 50 business days left in the Senate’s calendar before Election Day, the Senate has lots of other pending business, and the pendency of Durham’s probe renders the notion of significant congressional testimony a pipe dream.

See, if this weren’t theater, Season II would have been integral to Season I, which was “All About the Mueller Investigation.” It has been obvious since before Mueller’s May 2017 appointment that the Trump–Russia probe was highly irregular. In fact, two months before Mueller was named special counsel, Graham and his senior Judiciary Committee colleague, Senator Chuck Grassley, complained to then-FBI director James Comey that, despite the lack of meaningful corroboration, the Steele dossier had been central to the FBI’s submissions to the FISA court for warrants to surveil Carter Page.

But what did the Senate do with that information? Nothing of consequence, nothing public.

Democrats, in stark contrast, were not standing pat. Day after day, they fed the media collusion beast, projecting a corrupt Trump–Russia conspiracy. The GOP senators raised their concerns privately with the FBI director; but Comey, for his part, went public: sensationally announcing in March 2017 House testimony that the FBI was conducting a counterintelligence investigation of Trump campaign complicity in Russia’s election interference — even intimating that there could be indictments. And while the Republican-controlled Senate snoozed, the FBI and its Justice Department allies went back to the FISA court, relying yet again on Steele’s rumor-mongering — not once but twice after Graham and Grassley raised alarms about the lack of corroboration.

When Mueller was appointed, even though they (unlike the public) knew how baseless the “collusion” allegation was, Senate Republicans joined their Democratic colleagues in celebrating that the probe was now in the hands of a Washington eminence. House Republicans, particularly under then-chairman Devin Nunes leadership in the Intelligence Committee, were being stonewalled by the FBI and the Justice Department as they demanded information about the investigation. With President Trump’s hands tied — if he had forced mass disclosure, he’d have been accused of corruptly obstructing Mueller’s investigation — the House desperately needed Senate Republicans to step up to the plate, to hold hearings, demand answers, and raise the public pressure for disclosure.

That’s what Senate Democrats would have done, remorselessly, were the shoe on the other foot.

But no, Republican senators weren’t interested in rocking the boat. Just wait until Mueller’s done, Senator Graham & Co. vowed, then we’ll really get to the bottom of this thing. Well, Mueller was done over a year ago . . . and now they’re going to start issuing subpoenas?

It’s a sideshow. There is a serious Justice Department investigation underway, one that may be nearing resolution. When a committee of Congress bestirs itself to start holding hearings under those circumstances, two things happen. First, if the witnesses the Senate suddenly decides it must interview are material to the case prosecutors are trying to build, the Justice Department objects . . . and the Senate must stand down, lest it be accused of interfering with law enforcement. Second, if other witnesses the Senate suddenly decides it must interview are subjects of the Justice Department’s investigation, then they have a very live Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination. Therefore — with all due respect, of course — they tell the Senate to stick its subpoenas where the sun don’t shine.

By the way, nobody knows this better than a very accomplished trial lawyer named Lindsey Graham, who served as a prosecutor, a defense lawyer, and a judge in the military-justice system.

When the salient witnesses are unavailable, what do you get? You get witnesses who appear both to have known nothing and to have avoided learning anything. That is, you get Rod Rosenstein, the star . . . ahem . . . witness in the big hearing the Judiciary Committee held before this week’s spat over the subpoenas.

The event was about what you’d expect. Republicans used Rosenstein’s Mr. Magoo routine as an opportunity to make speeches about FBI corruption (drawn from the Justice Department’s inspector-general investigations . . . there being no independent Senate investigation to draw on). Democrats used Rosenstein’s appearance, amid uprisings over George Floyd’s killing, as an opportunity to frame the Trump Justice Department as indifferent to police brutality — at least when they were not railing about what a waste of time the proceedings were. Meantime, our understanding of why the Trump campaign and administration were investigated on the pretext of Russian collusion did not advance a bit.

So, good luck with those Senate subpoenas . . . and someone wake me up when we hear something from John Durham.

Retribution against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)

Plan IX. Appreciating America’s Manifest Destiny

The United States has a manifest destiny to be an example and a blessing in sharing and promoting the principles of liberty.”
– “The Five Thousand Year Leap”, by W. Cleon Skousen

Recently, a group of elderly Chinese Americans who fortunately survived the catastrophic Great Cultural Revolution had become deeply concerned with the current turmoil in America.  Their personal experiences tell them this chain of events are similar to the Cultural Revolution over 50 years ago, when Red Guards (insurrectionists) overnight rose to power, smashed and/or burnt properties, historical sites, relics, temples etc.;  openly condemned, beaten, or even killed the innocent labeled as “anti-revolutionaries”; forced them to bow or kneel down in public…

Some of these concerned Chinese Americans also heard a secret speech lately given by a high-level CCP official, who revealed that the CCP is plotting to stage another event in America. It may be more violent, more detrimental, more massive in and around this September and October. The goal is to further paralyze America.  One of the elderly Chinese Americans became so furious that he boldly sent a text message that read “Bring Down the CCP” to his WeChat group. The message was immediately deleted by the recipients as they know the CCP spies are closely monitoring everyone and everything with many spies living among us on the American soil.

Eventually, several close friends met secretly at a private home to discuss how they could share their own excruciating stories that occurred in communist China to awaken the American people. They emphasized not to be deceived by the flashy slogans that is typical of the communist revolution (or insurrection).  The book “How the Specter of Communism Is Ruling Our World” published in 2018 offers an insightful account on how the communists are ruling the free West in all spheres. In this regard, it wrote:

The instigation of revolution can be divided into the following steps,

  1. Foment hatred and discord among the people.
  2. Deceive the public with lies and establish a revolutionary united front.
  3. Defeat the forces of resistance one at a time.
  4. Use violence to create an atmosphere of terror and chaos.
  5. Launch a coup to seize power.
  6. Suppress the reactionaries.
  7. Build and maintain a new order using the terror of revolution.”

This book foretells the ending of this havoc: “The divine will triumph over the devil. Which side we stand on will determine our eternal destiny.” As for the solution, the book repeatedly emphasizes that people should “understand how we can stop the devil from ever ruling the world again. This relies on each individual’s enlightenment, proactive abandonment of evil, and return to the traditions and way of life that the divine laid down for man.”

America’s Manifest Destiny

The American founding fathers 243 years ago distilled the finest wisdom in the 5000-year-old human history and established the greatest nation on earth.  In these founding principles of the United States, our founding fathers recognized the Creator – who created the universe, endowed people with unalienable rights.  They also recognized that moral and virtuous people/leaders are essential to a free society and religion is fundamental.  “With a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence”, our founding Fathers faithfully declared that the “manifest destiny of America” is “to be an example and a blessing in sharing and promoting the principles of liberty”.

It is this Manifest Destiny that America has been enshrined to be the greatest nation on earth.  This Manifest Destiny is the grand arrangement by the Creator.  No evil force, whether internal or external could or will ever shake America’s absolute leading stance generation after generation, American people have continued to walk on a path laid down by our founding fathers, and safeguarded “this shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere”, which was repeatedly emphasized by President Reagan. Over the years, the CCP has viciously slandered America’s Manifest Destiny, falsifying American people as Narcissists and hegemonists.  This March, once the US stock market dropped amid the pandemic, the CCP propaganda could not wait to gloat, “America’s Manifest Destiny already died”, which laid bare the CCP’s ambition for global domination.

About Traditional Chinese Culture

The 5000-year-old traditional Chinese culture was endowed by the Creator – “the oldest grandfather in heaven” in Chinese.  Founded upon faith and venerating virtue, traditional Chinese culture has been profoundly influenced by Taoist’s wisdom: the unity of heaven and humanity.  Traditional Chinese people recognized humans must follow the Creator’s will, venerate the divine and cultivate virtues. Only so if one could earn blessings from heaven while the divine evaluates the humans with the Creator’s eternal law. This timeless law also establishes the fundamental moral system which assures the stable undertakings of the society.  It is apparent that the essence of traditional Chinese culture shares many similarities with the founding principles of America.

The CCP Culture

Tragically in the last century, the communists wreaked havoc in the ancient Chinese nation and turned the ancient moral system up-side-down.  Deploying violence, terror, and deceit, the CCP systematically wiped out the traditional Chinese culture bestowed by the Creator and replacing it with a wicked CCP Culture. This new culture can be characterized by two key elements: atheism and class struggles.

Built upon hatred against the divine, the atheism fights against everything laid down by the Creator.  Communism is anti-humanity, anti-traditions, and anti-orthodox and anti-religions.  The class struggles instigate nonstop conflicts which explains why communists keep labeling new enemies and bringing them down in the never-ending political campaigns in the last 70 years. Targets have been landlords, capitalists, intellectuals, scholars, artists, Tibetan Buddhists, pre-democracy students, Falun Gong practitioners and underground Christians. The Chinese elites destined to inherit the traditional culture have all been eliminated.

The CCP’s Ultimate Goal

Communism is neither a trend of thought, nor a doctrine, nor a failed attempt at a new way of ordering human affairs.  Instead, it should be understood as a devil — an evil specter forged by hate, degeneracy, and other elemental forces in the universe.

In another dimension, not visible to us, it took the form of a serpent, then that of a red dragon, and it keeps company with Satan, who hates God. It exploits low-level beings and demons to wreak havoc on humankind. The goal of the specter is to ruin humanity. While the divine offers salvation, communism tells people not to believe in the divine, attacks human morality so as to make people abandon tradition, and causes people to disregard the divine’s instruction and, ultimately, to be destroyed.”
– “How the Specter of Communism Is Ruling Our World

In short, the ultimate goal of communism is to destroy mankind by killing people’s souls. Some describe it as “block all the roads to heaven and open the doors to hell”.  As the communists repeatedly shriek for “achieving communism all over the world”, the real goal is to “destroy all religions and traditions in the world, corrupt the morality, and destroy mankind”.

In July 1999, Jiang Zemin launched the persecution of Falun Gong using 1,400 fabricated cases. These fabrications labeled innocent Falun Gong practitioners as dreadful criminals who murdered, destroyed public properties, or suffered from severe mental disorders and committed suicides.  For months, all the state-controlled media were mobilized to spread the mass hate propaganda against Falun Gong 24-7.

As part of the ancient traditional Chinese culture, Falun Gong, a self-improvement practice, was made public in 1992.  Not only did it offer miraculous health benefits to tens of millions of people, but it also brought an unprecedented moral recovery to the society.  By 1999, over 100 million Chinese from all walks of life were practicing Falun Gong, including many senior CCP cadres.

In September 1999, Director of the State Administration of Religious Affairs of the CCP, Ye Xiaowen gave an internal lecture to the senior CCP officials from the central and provincial governments. Ye opened by acknowledging the fact that many did not understand the CCP’s suppression of Falun Gong and therefore were reluctant to follow the order.  He made no secret that he was “representing Jiang to mobilize everyone to solve the Falun Gong problem”.

Ye announced that the goal of the CCP was to eventually eliminate all religions on earth; eliminating all believes in divine.   He explained that even if all the other aspects of the communism are achieved and if this goal is not reached, people could still turn to God. This is because humans, being helpless in front of natural disasters, would naturally think of God and pray for God’s blessings. Therefore, the realization of communism is only successful after all believes in God are eliminated.  Ye further explained that China has been a religious country for thousands of years, and now many religious people are distributed in ethnic minority areas, such as Tibet, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, or Yunnan.  Because of this unique distribution, if they were not allowed to have their believes when PRC was formed, these ethnic minorities would have fought for independence.  Hence, the CCP included religious freedom in its Constitution.

However, the implementation has always been based on the goal through three means: first – bribe the religious leaders of ethnic minority groups such as Tibetan Lamas.  Then, invite them to Beijing and offer them attractive positions, give them the best treatments and let them enjoy life so that they would gradually forget their believes.  Second, severely crack down on religious leaders who did not agree with the CCP, throw them into prisons, treat them with zero tolerance, and give them no space to live. Third, strengthen atheistic education in religious areas with vigor so that young people and the new generations would no longer believe what their parents taught them. The old generation would gradually die out and their region would not remain religious.

Ye said repeatedly that the CCP had made great achievements in its fifty years of rule to eliminate the religious believes among mainlanders (Han) and successfully transform existing religions in ethnic minorities into mock religions serving the CCP.  However, the sudden emergence of Falun Gong made this 50-year “achievement” into nothing.  In as little as seven years of Falun Gong teaching many people, especially the CCP members, had joined the practice and believed in “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance” (which are completely opposite of CCP’s principles of violence, killing and deceits).  Ye made it clear if the CCP did not eradicate Falun Gong, the CCP itself would die.

The CCP’s Deceits in the Current Pandemic

Founded upon faith in the Creator, America truly is the greatest nation on earth. Therefore, the CCP has regarded America as its No.1 enemy in achieving its global domination ambitions.  In this pandemic, the CCP’s deceits and attacks on America have reached a new zenith.

  • Cover up
Between October 2019 (or even earlier) to January 2020, the CCP insidiously covered up the outbreak and purposefully allowed the virus to spread worldwide.
  • Self-touting and Exploitation

Since the Wuhan lockdown (Jan 23, 2020), the CCP intensively touted its ‘successful’ combat against the virus while continuing to lie about the severity of the epidemic. Meanwhile, the CCP’s embassies and consulates called oversea Chinese Americans to buy out medical supplies in local markets.  Later, the CCP sold them at much higher prices or used them for “mask diplomacy”.

  • “Savior of the World”
Since February 20, the CCP’s propaganda suddenly changed their tune and bragged about them being the savior of the world, the world leader of controlling the virus and it was ready to “help” the world. On March 7, the CCP’s propaganda machine called the Chinese people to thank the CCP.
  • The Blame Game
On March 12, one day after the WHO declared the pandemic, the CCP immediately blamed America, later Italy, German and other countries for bringing the virus to Wuhan.
  • False Narrative to Divide America

Since late March, the CCP has launched a wave of anti-America campaign, spreading the rumors such as “soon the United States  will be divided with each state printing its own money and some coming to join the PRC.” Promoted that Trump had no position power over governors and that many of would announce independence soon”. Then the CCP would soon become the No.1 superpower in the world”.  And “we will unite Taiwan in the near future”.

  • Attacking American Leaders
The CCP labeled Secretary Pompeo “the common enemy of the mankind”; Peter Navarro as a mocking character called “Fan Jin” from a popular Chinese literature (a poor villager who surprisingly won a position in the government by scoring high in the test) and Marc Rubio as “one-of-a-kind anti-China lawmaker” and  Matthew Pottinger as “Stigmatization” expert.

  • Instigating Separation and Insurrections

During the riots in America the CCP hoped to further divide America and instigate more insurrections and then the CCP would immediately jump to condemn the racism.  In a response to Morgan Ortagus (State Department spokeswoman) comments on the controversial security bill in Hong Kong, the CCP spokeswoman Hua Chunying tweeted, “I cannot breathe”, and that “We stand firmly with our African friends.” The CCP also compared the riots in America to the Hong Kong protest to mix up the two events with two distinctive natures.

Disasters Brought by Confucius Institutes

Many governments, large companies, and businessmen may, for a period of time, ostensibly obtain benefits from the CCP for the sacrifice of their moral principles. But in the end, they will lose more than they gain. Such ill-gained, superficial benefits are all poisonous. Only by not coveting immediate interests will one have a bright future.

“The CCP is not a political party or regime in the normal sense. It does not represent the Chinese people. It represents the communist specter. To associate with the CCP is to associate with the devil. To be friendly with the CCP is to appease the devil, aid it, and play a role in pushing humanity toward destruction. Conversely, to push back against the CCP is to engage in the battle between good and evil. This is not a simple matter of countries fighting over national interests. It is a battle for the future of humanity.”

– “How the Specter of Communism Is Ruling Our World”

Currently, there are still 80 Confucius Institutes operating in American colleges and universities plus hundreds of Confucius classrooms targeting 6th to 8th graders.  Under the cover of “Confucius”, the CCP instills atheism and CCP’s ideology to the children.  In the CCP’s dictionary, heaven does not exist. In fact, it is replaced by nature. Among all the Confucius principles, the CCP falls in love with “harmony” and has exploited it to justify its totalitarian ruling and coerce Chinese people to obey the CCP.  To put it bluntly, the Confucius Institute is a covert propaganda machine spreading sugar-coated poison to kill the next generation’s souls. The Institutes alone are an effective tool to harbor the CCP spies and organize protests for the CCP on American soil.

During this pandemic, many Confucius Institutes have become the mouthpiece of the CCP. Interestingly, the cities and universities hosting these Confucius Institutes are often victimized by the pandemic. For example, Philadelphia county (Temple University), and Allegheny County (Pittsburgh University) were two regions hit the hardest by the pandemic in Pennsylvania.  Both universities have active Confucius Institutes established on campus.

Similarly, there are over 200 American cities in agreements with their sister-cities that are governed and controlled by the wicked CCP. This explains why so many of them (such as New York City, Seattle, San Francisco etc.) have also been severed by the pandemic.  It is time to wake up to the evil nature of the CCP,  shut down all the Confucius Institutes and classrooms, to severe all the sister-city agreements with CCP and to cut off any ties with this evil specter.

On June 1, when President Trump resolutely walked to St. John’s Church, he held the Bible announcing to the world: “This is the greatest nation, it will continue to be”. He represented most of the American people who choose to stand by the side of the Creator.  On June 2, the very next day, President Trump signed the Executive Order Advancing International Religious Freedom.  The order declares what the world needs in this finale of good vs. evil, that “Religious freedom for all people worldwide is a foreign policy priority of the United States, and the United States will respect and vigorously promote freedom.” This is a solemn pledge to the Creator and to the world that America will continue to walk on the path laid down by the divine and to safeguard our Manifest Destiny granted by the Creator.  Hence, America will undoubtedly continue to be enshrined by the Creator to be the greatest nation on earth. Soon, goodness will triumph.

Without God, there is no virtue, because there is no promoting of the conscience. Without God, we are mired in the material, that flat world that tells us only what the senses perceive. Without God, there is a coarsening of the society. And without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure. If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.
– President Ronald Reagan

Generals and Admirals

“The Wrong Stuff versus the Right Stuff

By MG Paul E. Vallely US Army (Ret) and

BG Charles Jones, USAF (Ret)

June 13, 2020

Retired Military Officers can be recalled to active duty and court-martialed for making derogatory remarks about America’s Commander in Chief and President of the United States. And some should be! Even more basic is these same disloyal Generals and Admirals are the same ones that could not win a war. America lost so many of its proud soldiers, sailors and airman and thousands wounded because of their flawed war-fighting strategies and policies (all documented). They have destroyed their reputation and credibility among the ranks and the Constitutional Patriots of America.

The statement “using the military to fight Americans” was clearly misstated and misinterpreted by a few of these senior officers, especially General Milley, the Chairman of the Joints Chief of Staff. Cities, businesses, private property, and innocent civilians were being attacked and murdered by Antifa forces and other insurrectionists. The Governors and Mayors backed down as well as senior police chiefs and were not enforcing laws. Cowards to say the least! The President simply said to America, “if the Governors and Mayors could not control the insurrection, he would take action to Federalize the National Guard and insert Active Duty Forces to quell and neutralize the insurrections and criminals if the local authorities could not control the various riots. By the way, the President of the United States has all the right and duty to protect the American people.

Consider the options the President had to assist the Governors and Mayors and local police.  What would you do if you were in his position? Stand by, do nothing, or offer assistance and support or provide a solution to neutralize the insurrectionists.? If the local police and sheriffs could not control the situation, the President had no other choice than to provide backup to assist State and Local Police and the State National Guard. Believe us, the outcomes would be different, and the insurrections of 2020 would be defeated.

Some charged that The Constitution was under threat from the President.  Another General stated Trump was a threat to National Security when in fact, the President was trying to enforce National Security. Even weak and RINO Republicans jumped on the bandwagon to attack the President.  One said, “our Republic is under attack from the President” and that President Trump was working to destroy the nation”. Fabrication and deception by the media and socialists were prevalent, thus, adding confusion among the American people. Do not believe for a moment that our international enemies were looking on and would take advantage of a weakening America. And why would General Milley need to apologize for accompanying POTUS to a Church that was set on fire by rioters walking distance from the White House?

The press would blather about racial injustice when it was the rioters and insurrectionists who set the fires and destroyed millions of dollars of personal and government properties.    The President and his national security team were tasked with the mission to develop solutions to the crisis. They call it “crisis planning”.

“Enough is enough” America!  The Deep State is still filled with anti-Trump political appointees, senior Generals and Admirals and staffers need to be removed from the ranks. Patriotic Americans know in their hearts what is needed to keep the Republic from crumbling know we have a President who fights for them and this great country and will not permit anarchists and Socialists to destroy what our forefathers created.

We recommend that the President convene a meeting immediately at the Pentagon and attended by the senior Defense leaders, Secretaries, and four-star Generals and Admirals. The President can then determine and sound out their concerns. He can, then, determine their loyalty and commitment to the Trump team. Those than cannot commit to the President should be asked to submit their resignations by close of business. Selected Retired Generals and Admirals who are apart of a Trump coup should be called back to Active Duty and tried by Court Martial.

Just released by Investigative Reporter Lara Logan!

Donald Trump is facing an unprecedented assault to deny him a second term.

But one form of opposition is leaving Trump and his supporters stunned.

And now a Fox News reporter just blew the whistle on this military plot to remove Trump.

In recent days, multiple former military officers spoke out against Donald Trump

and demanded he be removed from office.

Retired Admiral William McRaven, Retired Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey,

Retired Marine General John Allen, and former Secretary of Defense James Mattis also publicly

attacked the President and shattered the American norm that the military stayed out of domestic politics.

Fox News reporter Lara Logan said these former Generals and Admirals were waging

coordinated information warfare against President Trump.

Logan cited Allen specifically for ties to the left-wing Brookings Institute.

“He’s head of a think tank now that is constantly taking shots and waging information warfare

against the president for the election, and you can map it out. New America is one of the organizations,

the Lincoln Project — that’s a whole bunch of Republicans who are running attack ads and pushing

out a constant, constant stream of anti-Trump propaganda,” she said.

Logan also claimed the other former military commanders were connected to the

McChrystal group which is linked to a Democrat SuperPAC.

“And all of these people, and many of them connected with the McChrystal Group and

Gen. Stanley McChrystal — who has made no secret of the fact that he’s partnered

with an organization called Defeat Disinfo, which is a Democratic SuperPAC, and they want you

to think they are defeating disinformation, but what they’re doing is propagating it,

and they don’t even hide it,” Logan added.

In the interview, Logan delivered one final warning.

Logan explained that these former military officers waging information warfare against

the President would not leave the election results to chance.

“What [intelligence sources] see is an information warfare campaign that is designed to set

the stage to ensure that the election delivers the results that they want, if they wait that long . . .

what they’re doing is creating the problem, civil unrest, civil disturbance, in which

they can be the solution,” Logan concluded.

General Milley Should Resign

General Milley’s Open Defiance
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley meets with Chief of the Russian General Staff Gen. Valery Gerasimov in Bern, Switzerland, Dec. 18, 2019 (Wikimedia Commons)
Somewhere President Harry Truman is rolling his eyes.

Here is the headline in the Washington Post:

Pentagon’s top general apologizes for appearing alongside Trump in Lafayette Square

The Post story begins by reporting this:

The Pentagon’s top general apologized on Thursday for appearing alongside President Trump near the White House after authorities forcibly removed peaceful protesters from the area, saying that it “was a mistake that I have learned from.”

Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, made the remarks in a prerecorded graduation speech to students at the National Defense University. He has been roundly criticized for thrusting the military into politics by walking alongside the president on June 1 as Trump traveled on foot to a nearby church that had been damaged during protests following the police killing of George Floyd.

Milley advised the students that it is important to keep “a keen sense of situational awareness” and that he had failed to do so as he walked from Lafayette Square in combat fatigues alongside the president, Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper and other senior advisers.

Here is an earlier headline from the Washington Post:

St. John’s Episcopal Church, historic church next to the White House, set on fire during protests

To be clear, yes, of course, Gen. Milley is a patriot who has served his country well. But let’s cut to the chase.

Religious liberty is enshrined in the First Amendment to the Constitution thusly, bold print for emphasis supplied:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

Burning a church is an attempt to prohibit the free exercise of religious liberty. It is the most fundamental of a president’s responsibilities to defend religious liberty — as the Constitution says. There is nothing — nothing — either wrong or unusual about a president traveling to a church or defending religious liberty. In fact, it is a president’s constitutional duty to defend religious liberty, as he is sworn to defend the Constitution in his oath of office.

On June 26, 2015, President Obama traveled to Charleston, South Carolina, to honor those killed in the racist assault on the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. In fact, as is standard procedure, he was accompanied by members of the military assigned to the White House Military Office. Said the president as he discussed the importance of churches, bold print for emphasis supplied:

The church is and always has been the center of African-American life — a place to call our own in a too often hostile world, a sanctuary from so many hardships.

Over the course of centuries, black churches served as “hush harbors” where slaves could worship in safety; praise houses where their free descendants could gather and shout hallelujah — rest stops for the weary along the Underground Railroad; bunkers for the foot soldiers of the Civil Rights Movement. They have been, and continue to be, community centers where we organize for jobs and justice; places of scholarship and network; places where children are loved and fed and kept out of harm’s way, and told that they are beautiful and smart — and taught that they matter. That’s what happens in church.

That’s what the black church means. Our beating heart. The place where our dignity as a people is inviolate. When there’s no better example of this tradition than Mother Emanuel — a church built by blacks seeking liberty, burned to the ground because its founder sought to end slavery, only to rise up again, a Phoenix from these ashes.

The outcry from anyone in the military about being forced to accompany the president on this trip? Zero.

Gen. Milley said this in his statement:

As many of you saw the results of the photograph of me in Lafayette Square last week, that sparked a national debate about the role of the military in civil society. I should not have been there. My presence in that moment, and in that environment, created the perception of the military involved in domestic politics.

n July 4, 1986 — an election year — when I was a young aide to President Reagan, I went to New York for a celebration of the centennial of the Statue of Liberty. Not only were the president and Mrs. Reagan there in person, but it was also, if one wants to play Gen. Milley’s game, a spectacular example “of the military involved in domestic politics.”

I was greeted at a designated dock on the side of New York harbor and transported by the Navy to the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy, where I was surrounded by all manner of prominent Americans and presidential political allies of the day — plus hundreds of members of the United States Navy. Not far distant was the battleship USS Iowa, where the president and Mrs. Reagan reviewed a parade of tall ships. That evening the president would stand on the Iowa’s deck to address the nation. Did I mention that 1986 was a congressional election year? In other words, to use Gen. Milley’s words, if that’s the way you want to describe it, the military was massively involved in domestic politics back there on July 4, 1986.

Make no mistake, Gen. Milley’s statement is itself the very epitome of politics. The politics of Inside the Beltway insiders who cannot abide the elected president of the United States.

Gen. Milley’s words summon in turn the words of former President Harry Truman in his memoirs when he recounted his famous decision to fire Gen. Douglas MacArthur in the middle of the Korean War. Truman wrote that MacArthur, in issuing a Milley-style statement on his own that challenged the president, had made a

most extraordinary statement for a military commander … on his own responsibility.… It was in open defiance of my orders as President and as Commander in Chief. This was a challenge to the authority of the President under the Constitution.

Then the 33rd president went on to say,

If there is one basic element in our Constitution, it is civilian control of the military. Policies are to be made by the elected political officials, not by generals or admirals.…

One reason that we have been so careful to keep the military within its own preserve is that the very nature of the service hierarchy gives military commanders little if any opportunity to learn the humility that is needed for good public service.

Clearly, Gen. Milley’s statement comes perilously close to doing exactly what Truman charged of MacArthur: issuing “a challenge to the authority of the President under the Constitution.”

This is flatly unacceptable, not to mention seriously wrong.

To be clear, Gen. Milley is perfectly within his rights to disagree with the president — behind closed doors. But the moment he takes his disagreement and goes public on his own authority, as Truman said of MacArthur, this is “open defiance” of a president’s orders.

What is notable, in sum, is that on two separate occasions Gen. Milley has openly challenged the Constitution.

First by criticizing the president for standing up for religious liberty — as enshrined in the Constitution — with the presidential visit to a church burned quite deliberately by “protesters” who were in fact would-be arsonists.

Second is the general’s open public statement that is effectively issued, in Truman’s phrase, in “open defiance” of his president and commander-in-chief.

To which, the answer to Gen. Milley is the obvious one. If the general can’t obey the Constitution — he should resign.

Retired generals who denounced Trump could be recalled to active duty and prosecuted, experts say

The Uniform Code of Military Justice prohibits using “contemptuous words” against the president.

Retired four-star military officers who lambasted President Trump could be recalled to active duty and prosecuted for violating the U.S. Code, military law experts told Just the News.

“Retired officers can’t make contemptuous remarks of the commander-in-chief,” said John Dowd, a former Marine Corps Judge Advocate and former Trump legal advisor. “They’re all subject to recall. They’re subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice until they die.”

The pertinent law is Title 10 of the U.S. Code, Section 888, the experts said.

“As part of the UCMJ, governing military law, you cannot use contemptuous words against certain officials, including the president,” one active duty Army Judge Advocate General Corps officer said. “That is a court-martial offense, and yes, you can be recalled to active duty to be court-martialed.”

The outspoken retired officers know they could be held to account, the JAG officer said.

“I don’t know who the hell they think they are,” Dowd said. “It’s stunning to me. I guess the law doesn’t apply to them.”

The retired officers comprise some of the biggest marquee military names in recent times. They include former Defense Secretary Gen. James Mattis and former Special Operations Command chief Adm. William McRaven.

With increasing frequency over the past couple years, and in quick succession over the past week, they have leveled serious accusations against Trump, and have called for him to be removed from office.

In late 2019, McRaven published a New York Times op-ed titled “Our Republic Is Under Attack From the President,” and later told CNN interviewer Jake Tapper that Trump is working to destroy the country.

On June 7, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Colin Powell — also speaking to CNN’s Tapper — said that Trump has “drifted away” from the U.S. Constitution. Elsewhere, Powell said Trump “lies all the time,” and called him a “menace.”

Retired Lt. Gen. John Allen, who commanded U.S. forces in Afghanistan, said in an interview that the Constitution is under threat — not from violent anarchists, but from the president of the United States.

Retired Gen. Barry McCaffrey, who led U.S. Southern Command and served in Bill Clinton’s cabinet, denounced Trump as a threat to national security. Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Adm. Mike Mullen — who in 2012 surrendered his computers to the FBI in the course of a cybersecurity investigation — accused Trump of giving succor to foreign detractors.

Last week, Mattis launched his own salvo.

“We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership,” Mattis wrote about Trump in The Atlantic. “We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society,” he said, adding Trump made a mockery of the Constitution.

Amid publicity surrounding the comments, the retired officers rallied around one another, giving virtual salutes and fist-bumps.

McCaffrey posted on social media his support of Powell and Mattis. He tweeted a Tik Tok video mocking Trump, and made fun of Mattis critic Sebastian Gorka, calling him “a childish fraud.”
